Getting married dilemma..........read on?

My fiance wants us to get married at our counties courthouse. My parents (whom I am not particularly close to) want to come. They realize it's not a "wedding" but just making our marriage legal. Is it not odd that a family member would want to come to a courthouse just long enough to see the papers get signed and then that be it? I don't want to hurt their feelings but she doesn't really want anyone other than her and I to be present. HELP!
