Would I be liable to pay taxes if I don't gain in terms of money in online share trading ?

For example if I buy shares worth Rs1000 and sell them for Rs 10000 and again buy some shares using that Rs 10000, then would Rs(10000-9000) be considered as gain and would it be taxable ?
