Dquire Strat project help?

Hi, im redoing a old fender squire , repaint and getting new parts for it. Would it be possible to recarve the top fo the tremelo cavity to put in a floyd or edge floating trem? or do a whole sh*t load of other factors come into play that i would have to readjust and stuff?
